Blair Healy
Blair Healy is the Utilities Manager for Langford, SD. He has lived in Langford since 1974, but grew up on a farm just four miles southeast of town. Healy became interested in wind power back in the 1970s and has toured various areas with wind projects and attended several workshops and seminars on harnessing the wind. Through his work as Utilities Manager, he has been involved in the collection of wind data for the Langford area since August 2006. In addition to his interest in the wind, Healy enjoys hunting, fishing, and spending time at his cabin on Roy Lake.
"The development of the wind resources in NE South Dakota has been a long time coming. Everyone knew the lack of transmission was the problem, but with National Wind on our management team, we hope to overcome this and develop Dakota Wind Energy, LLC into South Dakota's largest community-based wind development.
By allowing all citizens to become involved in the project, we bring our communities closer together in striving to complete a project which could have been quite controversial."
